Melodic hardcore stars Turnstile and industrial metal icons Nine Inch Nails‘ ‘Nine Inch Noize‘ pairing with Boys Noize and Mariqueen Maandig Reznor made headlines at this year’s opening weekend for the 2026 edition of the ‘Coachella‘ festival. However, unlike some years past, they weren’t the mere token artists of heavier fare to hit the stage in Indio, CA.
Below you can see some officially released footage of songs from sets played by other artists who added some heft to the bill. Among them, crossover legends Suicidal Tendencies, hardcore punk band DRAIN, punk rockers Ceremony, grungegazers Fleshwater, punk metal band Die Spitz and Deftones/Limp Bizkit-approved alternative rocker Ecca Vandal.
You can also see a live performance from the divisively retooled lineup of hardcore punk legends Black Flag. 71-year-old guitarist/vocalist Greg Ginn overhauled the band with an entire roster of young new members, though fan response has been mixed to the move thus far. The second weekend of this year’s ‘Coachella‘ festival will commence this Friday, April 17th.
