Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer has admitted he has been vocal within the band about resurrecting the ‘Family Values Tour‘ in some form or another. Speaking with the joy.of.everything recently, while seemingly awaiting a flight at an airport, Shaffer first graciously opened up about his time at ‘Woodstock 99‘ and the nerves that came with it. During that chat he was also asked if there was ever a chance we’d see a ‘Family Values‘ reunion tour, Shaffer replied: “That would be amazing, and have the originals like Ice Cube and Rammstein. I mean, it’s possible.”

As for if the idea has ever been discussed within the band, Shaffer revealed he had been a proponent of it, adding, “I’ve talked about it. I have talked about it. I’m the one that’s like, ‘let’s do this!’. So I think if we have the right people involved, it could happen.”

Originally staged back in 1998, the inaugural ‘Family Values Tour‘ ambitiously assembled a bill that included Korn, Rammstein, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit and Orgy. The success of the trek was later immortalized as a platinum-certified live concert album. That initial trek also made headlines when members of Rammstein were infamously arrested in Worcester, MA for their lewd behavior onstage.

Several iterations of the tour would follow in the subsequent, with its last incarnation taking place back in 2013 in the form of a one-off destination festival in Broomfield, CO.
