Nine Inch Noize, a new collaboration between Nine Inch Nails‘ primary core of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, along with German electronic/house DJ Boys Noize, made their live debut yesterday, April 11th. That collective, who were also joined by Reznor‘s wife (and How To Destroy Angels bandmate) Mariqueen Maandig Reznor on select tracks, hit the Sahara stage at the opening weekend of this year’s ‘Coachella‘ festivities for their first live outing.

As expected after various collaborations on their world touring together, the live set encompassed a variety of remixed/reworked material from the Nine Inch Nails catalog done with assistance from Boys Noize. With Maandig in the mix, a remixed cover of How To Destroy Angels‘ “Parasite” also made it into the set. Also played was a remixed cover of “Memorabilia” — a 1981 track from British synth-pop duo Soft Cell. Various choreography from additional stage personnel and elaborate lighting and visuals worthy of a Nine Inch Nails show were also employed.

The setlist for last night’s livestreamed first outing ran as follows:

Vessel” (remix) (Nine Inch Nails cover) (feat. Mariqueen Maandig Reznor)
She’s Gone Away” (remix) (Nine Inch Nails cover) (feat. Mariqueen Maandig Reznor)
Heresy” (remix) (Nine Inch Nails cover) (feat. Mariqueen Maandig Reznor)
Parasite” (remix) (How To Destroy Angels cover) (feat. Mariqueen Maandig Reznor)
Copy Of A” (remix) (Nine Inch Nails cover)
Me, I’m Not” (remix) (Nine Inch Nails cover)
Closer” (remix) (Nine Inch Nails cover)
The Warning” (remix) (Nine Inch Nails cover)
Memorabilia” (remix) (Soft Cell cover)
Came Back Haunted” (remix) (Nine Inch Nails cover) (feat. Mariqueen Maandig Reznor)
As Alive As You Need Me To Be” (remix) (Nine Inch Nails cover) (feat. Mariqueen Maandig Reznor)

If you missed the set, last night’s livestream has since been reuploaded by a fan to Archive.org. This coming Friday, April 17th, will see the release of a debut outing from this new collective with further details pending.
