Late last March Boston hardcore band Haywire rolled through Baltimore, MD for a live show at the Nevermore Hall. As their frontman Austin Sparkman explained to the audience during that show, he and his bandmates chose to observe the custom of paying homage to local bands that helped pave the way.
The local heroes Haywire chose to honor that night (March 25th) were Baltimore hardcore punk vets, Trapped Under Ice. Haywire went on to share their own live footage of that tribute, which consisted of them performing the 2011 Trapped Under Ice track “Pleased To Meet You“.
That gesture must have made its way to Trapped Under Ice themselves, as this past Friday, April 03rd, that band’s frontman Justice Tripp (also of Angel Du$t) got up onstage to join Haywire for a live performance of that very track. That set took place at the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit, MI and some fan-filmed footage can be viewed below:
