Reunited progressive metal band Nevermore made their return to the stage tonight (April 01st), playing their first show since splitting up in 2011. Of course, tonight’s set in Istanbul, Turkey also saw the live unveiling of a very different version of the band. While guitarist Jeff Loomis and drummer Van Williams have retained their respective roles, the rest of the group are comprised of newcomers.
Berzan Önen has taken on lead vocal duties, replacing the late Warrel Dane. Jack Cattoi has assumed guitar duties and Semir Özerkan has been brought in on bass. The band revealed those personnel changes this past February after conducting an extensive audition process. The setlist for tonight’s big comeback ran as follows:
“Ophidian“
“Beyond Within“
“My Acid Words“
“Engines Of Hate“
“This Sacrament“
“The Seven Tongues Of God“
“Final Product“
“Narcosynthesis“
“I, Voyager“
“Moonrise (Through Mirrors of Death)“

“Enemies of Reality“
“Sentient 6“
“This Godless Endeavor“
“The River Dragon Has Come“
“The Obsidian Conspiracy“
“Believe in Nothing“
Encore:

Taking to social media after the set, Nevermore offered, “Thank you, Istanbul! We shed tears of joy with you. We’ll be back for sure, perhaps three cities next time?” Several clips of fan-filmed footage from the show have since arrived online, you can check them out for yourself as follows:
