The Kid Rock-led ‘Rock The Country Festival‘ has been dealt another blow, with its planned July 25th-26th stop in Anderson, SC having been canceled due to “unforeseen circumstances”. Fox Carolina received a statement from the Anderson County Administrator regarding the fate of that event, it read:

“Anderson County has been proud to host Rock the Country for the past two years. The event was a huge success drawing tens of thousands of visitors, making a multi-million-dollar economic impact on the Upstate. An event of this caliber proved what a great venue and exceptional hospitality we have here in Anderson County. Of course, we are disappointed that Rock the Country will not return to Anderson this year.

We are already planning additional major events and look forward to exciting announcements to come. Anderson County is committed to bringing high quality arts and entertainment to our community.”

Listings for that date have also been pulled from the schedule for the MAGA-leaning festival on its official website, rockthecountry.com. That concert was originally announced earlier this year with a two-day lineup that ran as follows:

Saturday, July 25th:

Creed
Brantley Gilbert
Gretchen Wilson
Morgan Wade
Lakeview
Hayden Blount
Highway Home
Connor Hicks
Mac Hankins And The Moonlighters

Sunday, July 26th:

Shinedown
Ludacris
Parmalee
Chase Matthew
Fox N’ Vead
Neon Union
Bottomland
Eddie And The Getaway
Kenny Whitmire

With increasing politically-inclined backlash being experienced by artists agreeing to play that fest, the lineup for the event has seen several high profile departures in recent weeks. Rapper Ludacris was among the first to withdraw. His representative blamed his booking at the festival as a “mix-up”. Since then, Morgan Wade and Faith Carter both exited the bill.

Today, February 06th, Shinedown also exited the festival, stating in part:

“We have one BOSS, and it is everyone in the audience. Our band’s purpose is to unite, not divide. With that in mind, we have made the decision that we will not be playing the Rock The Country Festival.

As it stands now, the other seven stops planned for the tour are set to go ahead. Outside of Kid Rock, other rock/metal adjacent performers set to play the festival include Lynyrd Skynyrd, Staind frontman Aaron Lewis (playing ‘solo’ with The Stateliners) and Asking Alexandria vocalist Danny Worsnop.
