Kid Rock continues to find himself under increased scrutiny as of late, with critics recently calling into question the lyrics of Rock‘s 2001 track “Cool, Daddy Cool“, which appeared on the ‘Osmosis Jones‘ soundtrack album. That track featured the lines:

“On my cell phone, I’m paid, G, can’t call me, just page me
Young ladies, young ladies, I like ’em underage, see
Some say that’s statutory, but I say it’s mandatory”

Kid Rock‘s close ties to U.S. President Donald J. Trump, and frequent support of right-wing and MAGA ideals have made the musician/entrepreneur a controversial figure over the past decade. However, criticism surrounding Rock has escalated this year, as he is set to headline a Turning Point USA-backed unofficial Superbowl LX halftime show this Sunday, February 08th. Dubbed the ‘All-American American Halftime Show‘, that concert is seemingly being in protest of Bad Bunny and Green Day officially being the official musical guests booked for the big game.

Outside of that, Rock‘s MAGA-leaning ‘Rock The Country‘ festival has also generated significant backlash for its political ties, causing several artists to depart the bill.
