The list of releases for the 2026 Record Store Day event is out and there’s plenty of metal and hard rock outings to potentially get out there and hunt down. This year’s Record Store Day will fall on April 18th, taking place at independent record stores across numerous countries. Among the most unexpected highlight for metalheads is the long-awaited release of the 2008 album from Slipknot offshoot Look Outside Your Window.
Beyond that, British alternative metallers Sleep Token will be releasing a 12″ for their track “Caramel“, backed with an instrumental version of “Emergence“. The latter was previously exclusive to Japan.
Blackgazers Deafheaven‘s 2025 trip to KEXP studios will be making it to vinyl for the first time, while Swedish metal extremists Meshuggah have a pair of remastered albums and more on deck. An exclusive vinyl figure of the late heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne, himself a previous Record Store Day ambassador, will also be released as part of this year’s Record Store Day festivities.
Other offerings of note include grunge legends Pearl Jam‘s new photo book/live EP featuring shots from their “Dark Matter” touring cycle, along with live renditions of “React Respond” and “Won’t Tell“. A rarity from Texan stoner/doom outfit The Sword is also set for its vinyl debut.
Titled “Three Songs“, that set is comprised of a collection of tracks (“Celestial Crown“/”Barael’s Blade“, “Winter’s Wolves” & “Iron Swan“) that the band originally sold on on CD-R at their shows back in 2005.
