The 2026 ‘GRAMMY Awards‘ took place in Los Angeles, CA today, February 01st, with the rock and metal categories once again being handed out via a premiere ceremony held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, CA ahead of the big televised gala event tonight.

Canadian alternative metal faction Spiritbox, who racked up their first gold single last year with “Circle With Me“, performed live onstage as part of the premiere ceremony, playing their track, “Soft Spine”. That song landed the band their third Grammy nomination overall, being in contention for this year’s ‘Best Metal Performance’.

Spiritbox ultimately went home once again empty handed however, as melodic hardcore favorites Turnstile not only won that award for their song “Birds“, but also Best Rock Album for “NEVER ENOUGH“. YUNGBLUD also won his first-ever GRAMMY Award, earning the Best Rock Performance for his live rendition of Black Sabbath‘s “Changes“.

That performance took place at the Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne final live sendoff ‘Back To The Beginning‘ last July and saw him flanked by Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, Frank Bello of Anthrax, Adam Wakeman, and II of Sleep Token. Sharon Osbourne, widow of Ozzy, joined that ensemble onstage to accept the award.

While industrial metal legends Nine Inch Nails won ‘Best Rock Song’ for their ‘Tron: Ares‘ soundtrack single “As Alive As You Need Me To Be“, members of the band were not in attendance to accept the award.
