SOEN‘s have chosen “Discordia” as the third single from their seventh studio album, “Reliance“. The Swedish progressive metal band have a January 16th release date set for that record via Silver Lining Music. This new cut didn’t arrive without a bit of explanation, as the group’s drummer Martin Lopez (ex-Opeth/Amon Amarth) said of it:
“‘Discordia‘ is the result of us pushing ourselves into different territories both sonically and emotionally. We experimented with darker textures to capture the descent from self-protection into isolation.”
Vocalist Joel Ekelöf added:
“The song sits in the tension between wanting connection and building walls to avoid pain. It’s a piece born from vulnerability, and from our willingness to explore the uncomfortable corners of our sound.”
A music video directed by Linda Florin for the above-mentioned song is now available to stream. As for touring plans, the band’s current 2026 slates thus far will find them out in Europe playing the following shows:
