Noah Weiland, son of the late Scott Weiland (ex-Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver), fronted a live tribute to the musical works of his father this past Wednesday, December 03rd at the Garden AMP in Garden Grove, CA. That day marked the tenth anniversary of Scott‘s death, with Noah and co. flying the flag for his dad’s legacy, covering numerous tracks from his catalog. Fan-filmed footage of that concert has been shared below.
Earlier this year, Noah dropped this cover of Velvet Revolver‘s hit “Slither“ in honor of his dad on Father’s Day. However, that rendition was hit by a copyright strike from Warner Chappell and removed from the internet. Noah also covered Stone Temple Pilots‘ “Sex Type Thing“ this past February as well.
In a surprising turn of events, the above-mentioned 10th anniversary of Weiland‘s passing also saw the posthumous release of a previously unheard Scott Weiland song titled “If I Could Fly“.
