After a somewhat bizarre rollout for their latest album, “Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos Del Vacio“, eccentric prog rockers The Mars Volta have recently been back in the studio working on their tenth full-length opus. Producer Sylvia Massy (Tool, System Of A Down) noted on social media yesterday, November 26th, that the band’s core duo of guitarist/vocalist/programmer etc. Omar Rodríguez-López and frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala spent some time in the studio with her this week. Per that below post, she also revealed that the duo brought along their preferred engineer, Jon DeBaun, for those sessions.
Thus far, the band have yet to elaborate on their plans for that next record, which hopefully for their sake, will go smoother than its predecessor, which leaked out early and ultimately wound up being released with little fanfare.
