Noah Weiland, son of late Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland, has plans to celebrate the tenth anniversary of his father’s passing onstage. He’ll be playing a December 03rd show at the Garden AMP in Orange County, CA on that date, covering a variety of songs from his father’s catalog. The 24-year-old Weiland will be sharing the stage that night with Jakob Nowell, the son of late Sublime vocalist Bradley Nowell, who like Noah, has also followed in his father’s footsteps.

Unfortunately, Noah, like Scott, has struggled with substance abuse, but remains committed to not falling into the same trappings as his father, having pointfully noted to Rolling Stone that he intends to continue attending AA meetings around the rehearsals for this show.

While the setlist is being kept under wraps, it doesn’t seem as though any of Scott‘s Stone Temple Pilots bandmates will be taking part. Noah told the aforementioned publication of his relationship with the band, ““I really haven’t talked with any of them in almost a decade now. I’m not sure if it has something to do with their relationship to my mom, but she isn’t in my life either. I’m always open to catching up.”
