The Devil Wears Prada guitarist/vocalist Kyle Sipress has publicly revealed that he wasn’t exactly involved in the songwriting/recording sessions for the melodic metalcore band’s upcoming ninth studio album “Flowers“. Taking to Instagram recently, Sipress, who joined the band back in 2015, first indicated his lack of input, offering: “Spent a few days learning some of the new songs from the new Prada record. This one’s called ‘Everybody Knows‘.”

The revelation of his unfamiliarity with the songs generated some comments from fans, with some expressing concern for his exclusion from the record. He responded:

“I really appreciate that but it just is what it is. While it does make me sad and I wish I was a part of the creative side like I used to be, I do get to play guitar on stage for a living. Hopefully my ability to play live does the job this record calls for.”

When asked directly why he wasn’t invited to join in on the album with his bandmates, he offered:

“It’s pretty complicated but I think at the end of the day they had a vision and direction that was just easier and more conductive with me not being involved. Trying new things out and having less/different cooks in the kitchen.”

Responding further to fans regarding the album’s origins, Sipress revealed that drummer Giuseppe Capolupo was also apparently not involved with the record. Per Sipress, keyboardist/programmer Jonathan Gering, vocalist/guitarist Mike Hranica and guitarist/vocalist Jeremy DePoyster led the songwriting and recording process along with some outside parties. He stated, “‘Flowers‘ was written and recorded by Jon, Jeremy, Mike and some songwriters from LA I believe.”

Flowers” is set to be released on November 14th through Solid State Records.
