Thou‘s take on Nine Inch Nails‘ “Suck” has just landed online, serving as your latest sneak peek at the upcoming “Best Of Nine Inch Nails (Redux)” compilation. Thou opted for a quote from 1934 Romanian philosopher Emil Cioran to explain their rendition of this track, which appeared on NIN‘s 1992’s “Broken“. That quote reads: “True confessions are written with tears only. But my tears would drown the world, as my inner fire would reduce it to ashes.”
While now commonly associated with Nine Inch Nails, “Suck” first emerged via a collaboration NIN linchpin Trent Reznor did with Pigface. Both “Best Of Nine Inch Nails (Redux)” and “The Downward Spiral (Redux)” will arrive through Magnetic Eye Records on November 28th and will find a diverse cast of artists paying tribute to music originally penned by the industrial metal legends.
