Black Cross Hotel, the industrial supergroup quintet featuring members of Stabbing Westward, The Atlas Moth, Broken Hope and more, are newly streaming a lyric video for the opening track for their upcoming album “Songs For Switches“. That song is titled “Eyes From Nowhere” and according to the band, has some lyrical inspiration from the late 80s sci-fi classic ‘RoboCop‘. Bassist Sanford Parker commented:
“‘Eyes From Nowhere‘ started with me channeling a raw, Jesus Lizard-type energy, then Marcus and Andrew pulled it in a completely unexpected direction – right into dark, punk-fueled Depeche Mode.”
Keyboardist Andrew Ragin added:
“To me, this track screams ‘RoboCop‘ (1987). It’s a sophisticated blend of elements that explores identity, humanity, and the consequences of unchecked corporatism through the story of a murdered police officer transformed into a cyborg.”
Someoddpilot Records have “Songs For Switches” headed for a Halloween (October 31st) release date.
