Pallbearer‘s remastered “Watcher In The Dark” music video has newly gone up online. The doom metal band partially retracked, while also re-mixed and remastered their 2014 sophomore outing “Foundations Of Burden” for an upcoming November 07th digital release (December 05th physical) with this clip being representative of that sonic overhaul. The band commented:
“While ‘Foundations of Burden‘ has always been dear to us, and in many ways helped define our “sound” as a band, its recording and mixing sessions were ‘troubled.’ Though we stand by the legacy of what was created back in 2014, we had always hoped to revisit it and unveil more of the performances from the four of us that had been sonically obscured as we tried our hardest to make the best of what we had given the adverse circumstances.
This new version doesn’t replace the original — it offers a different way to experience an album we remain extremely proud of, and the overwhelming majority of what you will hear on this reissue is from the original performances at the now-defunct Type Foundry studio in Portland, OR. In order to achieve our sonic goals in 2025, Devin and Brett each painstakingly re-tracked a single foundational layer of rhythm guitars, captured via our own treasured collection of tube amplifiers, microphones, and outboard gear. The end result is a recasting of the record that we believe sounds heavier, clearer and more expansive than ever before.”
