Californian Governor Gavin Newsom Once Again Takes Aim At Kid Rock On Social Media Amid Bad Bunny Super Bowl Backlash

This week’s reveal that multi-diamond-certified Puerto Rican musician/actor Bad Bunny would be headlining the halftime show at the ‘Super Bowl LX‘ in Santa Clara, CA has been the subject of much discussion. Sure, it once again dashed the hopes of metal and hard rock fans hoping that thrash metal legends Metallica would one day get the call.

However, in conservative circles, the decision has proven more controversial, with individuals decrying everything from Bad Bunny‘s alleged ‘lack’ of American patriotism, to his various criticisms of the current U.S. President Donald J. Trump and more.

Judging by a recent trending topic on X, conservatives have suggested that right-wing rap-rocker/country star Kid Rock would have been a more suitable choice, with numerous users publicly suggesting as much. That suggestion led to current Californian Governor Gavin Newsom once again taking a shot at Rock.

As he has been known to do, Newsom utilized his ‘Governor Newsom Press Office’ X account for that snipe. That account has infamously been trolling the social media posting style of Trump for some time now. Responding to one of the more prominent posts calling for Rock to have been enlisted for the halftime show made by Trump ally and appointee Nick Adams, Newsom added another entry in his beef with Rock. That exchange took place as follows:

If you’re a bit confused about that statement, back on September 19th, Newsom publicly declared that Rock had been ‘indefinitely suspended’ from performing in the state of California, citing concerns with “his horrific music.”

While there was obviously no legal weight behind the proclamation, it still made headlines and deepened the feud between Newsom and Rock. That discord had already been bubbling over on social media in recent months across several past exchanges.

As of press time, Rock, who himself is a long-time friend and ally of Trump and outspoken conservative, does not yet appear to have publicly responded to this latest jab from Newsom.
