Industrial outfit Author & Punisher have chosen “Titmouse” as the third and final advance single from their upcoming new album “Nocturnal Birding“. That ornithology-themed album will be out next Friday, October 03rd on Relapse Records. The band’s longtime mastermind Tristan Shone said of this latest cut:
“This track is lyrically about the physical and mental fatigue of what migrants go through travelling for days/weeks/months through brutal terrain with very little supplies. “Musically, this is one of the more difficult A&P tracks to play that goes on its own topographical trek with the guitars/drums/synths/vocals all weaving into each other.
Bird Note: The Tufted Titmouse is an amazing bird that can remember thousands of locations that it has hidden seeds; a sort of detailed mental map.”
