System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian has announced a new album compiling various covers, collaborations and more that he had accumulated over the years. The song “Electric Dreams” has been selected as the first single, with a stream for it having newly launched.

According to Tankian, the ideas and some of the recorded parts for the song, have been bouncing around for some 20 years now. He’s titled this upcoming set “Covers, Collaborations & Collages” and had the following to say of it:

“Similar to ‘Foundations‘, these are pre-existing archival recordings, some of them from way back/ I wanted to put out a record of collaborations I haven’t released before, along with covers, which I haven’t done. The rest, the collages, are parts that fit the puzzle in the same tone, the same vibe.”

Tankian also provided a bit more detail on the compilation in the below video introduction. While an October 24th release date has been set for the effort, the Armenian-American musician plans to release a new track each week leading up to the above-mentioned release date.
