Finnish prog metal band Amorphis have released “Dancing Shadow” as the third single from their new album “Borderland“. Patric Ullaeus (Arch Enemy, The Haunted) once again oversaw the directorial duties for the clip that accompanies the song. Lead guitarist Esa Holopainen offered up some backstory to the song, stating:
“The working title for ‘Dancing Shadow’ was ‘Disco Tiger.’ Musically it represents catchiness and hooks that have been familiar elements within our music for a long time. Sound-wise it came out pretty fresh and even modern. I bet this song will shake your legs on the dance floor – in a METAL disco, of course.”
Drummer/keyboardist Jan Rechberger added:
“With ‘Dancing Shadow,’ we stepped into completely new territory. For a band with over three decades behind us, that kind of reinvention feels meaningful.”
“Borderland” will arrive on September 26th through Regining Phoenix Music as the group’s fifteenth studio album overall.
