While some may argue Papa Roach‘s 6x multi-platinum hit single “Last Resort” best encapsulates the 2000 nü-metal scene, it appears the band feel differently. According to vocalist Jacoby Shaddix, the group have just recently put the finishing touches on a new song titled “Clickbait“, which he boldly described as “the most nü-metal song we’ve ever written in our career.”
Shaddix told Magenta TV of that:
“We’ve got another track we just finished up called ‘Clickbait‘, and it’s the most ‘nü-metal’ song we’ve ever written in our career, even from back in 2000. It’s got this vibe about it that’s just — it’s on another level, man. I’m excited for the fans to hear that one.”
Current plans have the band dropping their twelfth studio album sometime in 2026, though Shaddix has stated that another new song will arrive before the year’s end. Last week found the Californian outfit dropping this music video for their latest single “Braindead“, which saw H2O‘s Toby Morse guesting.
