Better Lovers drummer Clayton “Goose” Holyoak went public with his young daughter’s cancer battle last December, revealing the then 5-year-old Sage had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. This crowdfunding campaign was put in place to help with the costs associated with treating that disease.

The community rallied behind her and the Holyoak family, raising over $52,000 of a $60,000 goal. Now, in a post shared yesterday, August 01st, Holyoak has confirmed that his daughter is officially in remission after undergoing five rounds of chemotherapy this year. Clayton said of this positive diagnosis:

“Life has had some big changes for us this past month. Sage getting to ring the bell to family passing in between all the chaos of moving us into our new home and finishing projects before leaving to practice/to write the new better lovers LP2. Everything has been going so fast It’s been a minute since I really got so sit back and reflect.

I’ve been meaning to post about Sage. We are so incredibly relived and overwhelmed with happiness to say that she is officially in remission! Primary children’s hospital in Salt Lake City deserves a huge spotlight for the care they gave to Sage, @__lifeispeachy and I over the past months we spent there. Thank you everyone that stopped by or reached out in anyway! It really did help us push through it all. And now.. we celebrate! Super Nintendo World we see you ????…

I’ve also been meaning to pick up these screen printed posters of some of my art I finished up in the hospital (Shepard Fairey inspired, Orange representing leukemia awareness and Sage/green is obv.) @hugebrands were nice enough to print for us to raise money for Sage! You can pre order them through the link in my bio. Orders will start shipping second week of August! If you got this far you are a beautiful soul. Thank you for reading!”

You can still contribute to the aforementioned crowdfunding campaign via GoFundMe, or if you would like to check out the newly launched benefit print, you can find that at this location.
