In the wake of today’s (July 22nd) tragic loss of the veritable godfather of heavy metal, Ozzy Osbourne tributes from around the metal world have begun pouring in for the late Prince Of Darkness. Following a lengthy struggle with illness, that included the advancing symptoms of Parkinsons Disease, the heavy metal icon himself passed away surrounded by his family this morning.
Word of his death comes just weeks after the all-star ‘Back To The Beginning‘ concert gave both him and the pioneering heavy metal band he fronted, Black Sabbath, a grand live sendoff in Birmingham, UK. Metal and rock royalty all paid tribute to the storied heavy metal icon at that event, with many of those same artists now sharing tributes to the man himself in the wake of today’s solemn news.
It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love.
We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.

“It is with the heaviest heart today that we see a passing of a legend and a one of a kind artist that touched everyone in the music business. I was lucky enough to not only have known OZZY and be around his family but to have actually done a track with him (shock the monkey) he was the nicest person and helped propel my first band @coalchamberofficial into the mainstream. He was an inspiration for me from my youth right up to his passing. Coal chamber travelled the world with Black Sabbath and played most of the ozzfest festivals – Ozzy and that family will always mean the world to me I can’t even imagine what they are going through right now.To the Osbourne family go our deepest sympathy and condolences at this time.

This is surreal. I said most of what I needed to say in my post right after the Aston gig a couple of weeks ago. Again, what an honor to be a part of his last hurrah. Dear Ozzy,
I’m gonna miss you. Not nearly as much as your incredible soulmate, Mrs. Osbourne. Thank you for everything you’ve done for us all.
See you on the other side!

Ozzy Osborne.
Black Sabbath.
Broke EVERY rule. Especially their own.
Ozzy Osborne was Larger Than Life in ways that defy mere description.
Feared. Beloved. Revered
Metal began with Him.
As well as its ensuing Panic.
He changed EVERYTHING.
Farewell To The The King !

There is no heavy metal without Ozzy. His voice, his presence, his legacy, untouchable. From Sabbath to his solo work, Ozzy shaped the genre in ways that can never be overstated. We all owe him everything.
Rest in power, legend.

When I first picked up a guitar, it was Paranoid I learned. When my dad would play Black Sabbath when I was a kid we would instantly bond to the music. When I named my son Ozzy it was with no coincidence. This one hurts a lot for me and so many. ????

Ozzy Osbourne wasn’t just a pioneer—he was a force of nature. His voice & presence shaped what metal became, his influence echoes through every riff, scream, & stage we step onto. Our horns are raised in your honor, Ozzy. May the Gods welcome you with open arms.
