After a considerably lengthy gestation process, Anthrax vocalist Joey Belladonna has wrapped up tracking his vocals for the thrash metal band’s follow-up to 2016’s “For All Kings“. Writing and recording sessions for that twelfth studio album from the thrash pillars began around the pandemic, with producer Jay Ruston (Stone Sour, Avatar) again at the helm.
Back in August of 2023, the group’s guitarist Scott Ian revealed that he had been having some struggles getting the lyrics in shape for the record, but Belladonna himself had already began laying down his parts before the end of that year.
Speaking in a new conversation with Rebel Radio 92.5 FM, Belladonna confirmed that his parts are now finally completed, offering:
“You know what? I finished the vocals. I’m really happy with what I’ve done. And the band sounds great on the record. And as far as I know right now, we’re still finishing up a few things. We’re not even mixing yet, so at this point I’d be just speculating [about a possible release date]. Obviously, things are going in the right form and the timing is right. So, all good. I’m happy. You’re gonna love it.”
