You may have noticed Papa Roach have been taking their time with their follow-up to 2022’s “Ego Trip“. With further dates still planned for this year’s 25th anniversary of their multi-platinum sophomore breakthrough album “Infest“, there’s been no real rush to get a full body of new material out there. That said, as evidenced by the January 2025 release of their latest single “Even If It Kills Me“, they have steadily been cooking up some new tracks on the side.
According to vocalist Jacoby Shaddix, the group have already begun to amass a collection of new songs, one of which will debut online this month, complete with a new music video. In a newly conducted interview with Skratch N Sniff, Shaddix had the following to say about their current progress with album #12:
“We’ve got about five, six songs finished up. I’m headed to Nashville later today. I’m going to a NASCAR event and then headed to L.A. to go back in the studio and wrap up some more new tracks. And so [we’re] well into this new album.
We don’t have a release date yet. We just wanna get this one perfect before we drop it. But fans can expect new music throughout the year. Actually, after I go in the studio, I’ll jump back down to L.A. We’re shooting a music video for a brand new single we’re gonna drop in the middle of June, and so that’s coming up right around the corner. And that one’s a fucking banger, dude. I’m so excited about this next song.”
Shaddix was also asked if the band had lined up any guests for this twelfth studio outing. He responded:
“Actually, yeah. I’ve got a couple guests already on this record, but I ain’t gonna tell you who it is ’cause we just wanna surprise you as the tracks drop.”
