Amorphis‘ new single “Light And Shadow” has made its way out into the world, surfacing online as the first single from the band’s next album “Borderland“. That fifteenth studio outing has been slated for a September 26th release on Reigning Phoenix Music.
The Finnish prog metal outfit said of this new cut, ‘The song can be interpreted as a metaphor of the album title in the sense of counter-play between two parties close to each other.’ Keyboardist Santeri Kallio, who served as the primary writer of the track, added:
“I threw my brain into the closet and went with the flow – without stressing about opinions. I didn’t want to repeat the old nor copy what we’ve already done before. When I heard Tomi’s final vocal parts, I realised that ‘Light And Shadow’ would be the perfect introduction to our new album!”
