A family in Goodview, VA is thanking a Metallica concert for saving their lives. Earlier this month, the McKee family changed up their regular routine to pack it in early in a bid to catch the band’s May 07th stop at Lane Stadium in Blacksburg, VA.
In light of the their plans to attend the concert, David and Kristin McKee broke from their tradition of staying up late in the front room to watch TV, instead heading to bed to get a good night’s sleep to take their daughter to the show the next day.
As fate would have it, a pickup truck slammed through the front of their house the day of that concert at 2:00am, crashing into the very room they would have been sitting in had they not been planning to attend the show.
The family have since credited the thrash metal titan’s concert for saving their lives. Given the chaos of the accident, it appears to the family didn’t get to actually attend the show. WDBJ7 issued the below report on the accident and the fateful show.
