Daniel Williams, former drummer for The Devil Wears Prada, was tragically aboard the plane that crashed into the Tierrasanta area of San Diego, CA this morning, May 22nd. In a devastating turn of events, Williams happily posted about taking off in the plane on his Instagram stories last night.
Music agent Dave Shapiro, a co-founder of Sound Talent Group, was piloting the plane at the time of the crash. He also lost his life in the accident, along with all aboard the plane. CBS8 report that the crash affected at least 15 homes with multiple vehicles also being destroyed.
Sound Talent Group commented on the crash earlier this morning, offering:
“We are devastated by the loss of our co-founder, colleagues and friends. Our hearts go out to their families and to everyone impacted by today’s tragedy. Thank you so much for respecting their privacy at this time.”
Williams was a member of The Devil Wears Prada from 2005 till 2016. His former bandmates in The Devil Wears Prada commented on his passing this afternoon, offering, “no words. We owe you everything. Love you forever.”
The band’s guitarist/vocalist Jeremy DePoyster added:
