Iconic West Hollywood rock club the Whisky A Go Go was struck from the exterior by a dump truck this afternoon, May 09th. Prior to striking the wall of the club, the aforementioned truck was said to have first collided with a mail truck, before striking down a power pole outside of the venue and ultimate impacting the rear wall of the club itself. Per the Los Angeles Times, no serious injuries were reported. A main powerline however was struck during the incident, leading to 1420 customers experiencing a power outage, before crews were able to minimize some of that inconvenience.
Ironically, the accident happened just ahead a show Boy Hits Car were scheduled to play at the venue tonight. Boy Hits Car themselves have confirmed that the show was canceled in light of the accident, and they gave the following video update regarding their plans to eventually reschedule.
