The Black Dahlia Murder made two big announcements today, May 08th. The melodic death metal outfit’s vocalist Brian Eschbach shared the below video statement on social media, revealing that he will be missing the band’s immediate shows this month at the ‘Sonic Temple Art & Music Festival‘ and ‘Welcome To Rockville‘ festivals. In his place will be The Red Chord vocalist Guy Kozowyk.
Also revealed in the video is the addition of guitarist Wes Hauch (Alluvial, ex-The Faceless, etc.) as the band’s new touring guitarist for the foreseeable future. Hauch‘s instatement follows this past February’s exit of Brandon Ellis. Eschbach had the following to share in the below video about these developments:
“‘Sonic Temple‘ will be our first performance with someone that many of you already know, an amazing guitar player, the one and only Mr. Wes Hauch. We’re stoked to be playing with him and you can expect to see him playing with us for the foreseeable future. In other news, I myself unfortunately due to personal circumstances will not be able to perform with the band at these two festivals. And rather than cancel on this opportunity to play with a bunch of great bands, we decided to ask for a little bit of help. So we’re happy to announce that longtime colleague and friend, Guy Kozowyk of The Red Chord will be filling in on vocals.
So, we hope those in attendance enjoy these twice in a lifetime mashup events. But don’t worry, I will be back with the band this summer, there to melt your guys’ faces…”
