After suffering a massive stroke this past January, rock media and radio personality Matt Pinfield has been making great strides in his recovery. Despite spending spending weeks in a coma, his rehabilitation has been going well, with last week finding him help induct Green Day into the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
In a newly shared post on Instagram, Pinfield revealed that one of the famous musicians to reach out to him in the wake of his health woes was none other than the Prince Of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne. The latter 76-year-old heavy metal icon has been beset with health issues of his own in recent years, and surprised Pinfield by gifting him with one of his custom engraved canes.
Pinfield was blown away by the gesture and shared the following of that yesterday, May 07th:
“Once in a while an act of kindness and friendship can make your day (or your year!). When I got this beautiful surprise gift from one of my rock ‘n roll heroes, I was completely blown away!!! The one and only Ozzy Osbourne, who I discovered at 9 years old with the Black Sabbath album, Paranoid, sent me one of his own personal engraved custom canes. I was absolutely floored when it appeared because I learned Ozzy handpicked it out from his personal collection. Couldn’t think of a more thoughtful gift for a man who loves rock and roll, and is recovering from a life threatening experience! Thank you Ozzy, Sharon, Michael G, and Keith!! I love you all!!!!”
