Trivium, etc. vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy had an amusing onstage gaffe while rallying the audience onstage over the weekend. Adopting an air of accountability, he decided to share his public embarrassment with the internet at large, uploading the below video with a tongue in cheek apology.
As you can see in the clip, while calling for fans to get their smartphone lights, lighters and more in the air, Heafy also accidentally called for audience to hoist their Fleshlights as well. He immediately realized his mistake and quickly corrected himself, confirming he actually meant to say flashlights, and not the aforementioned brand of masturbatory aid.
A potential viral moment or not, one would hope that this clip doesn’t lead to any audience members actually bringing their aforementioned sex toys to Trivium shows in the future, as mosh pits already have enough poor showings of hygiene to begin with.
Trivium are currently rounding out the North American leg of their “Ascendancy” 20th anniversary tour. They have joined up with Bullet For My Valentine (celebrating 20 years of “The Poison“), August Burns Red & Bleed From Within on that run, which has the following dates to go:

05/06 Washington, D.C. – The Anthem
05/07 New York, NY – The Rooftop at Pier 17
05/09 Bethlehem, PA – Wind Creek Bethlehem – Wind Creek Event Center
05/11 Nashville, TN – The Pinnacle

I’d like to formally apologize for what I said last night on stage. I can and will do better. pic.twitter.com/43e7KD4O4M
