Deftones vocalist/guitarist Chino Moreno is among the numerous artists involved with an upcoming three volume remix set of influential goth rockers The Cure. Due out June 13th, that compilation features various remixes of the songs featured on The Cure‘s 2024 comeback album “Songs Of A Lost World“, which represented the band’s first new album in sixteen years.
Moreno reworked “Warsong” on the third volume of that set, which also finds Scottish post-rockers Mogwai delivering their interpretation of the album’s closing track, “Endsong“. A portion of the proceeds from each sale of the album will be donated to War Child UK.
The Cure vocalist Robert Smith stated of the set:
“Just after Christmas, I was sent a couple of unsolicited remixes of ‘Songs Of A Lost World‘ tracks and I really loved them. The Cure has a colourful history with all kinds of dance music, and I was curious as to how the whole album would sound entirely reinterpreted by others. This curiosity resulted in a fabulous trip through all eight songs by 24 wonderful artists and remixers and is way beyond anything I could have hoped for.”
Chino Moreno and The Cure have a lot of shared history together, with Deftones paying tribute to the goth rock outfit both in the studio and in a live capacity over the years. Smith has also remixed the “White Pony” track “Teenager“ and guested with Moreno‘s Crosses project .
Pre-orders for this new set are available now via thecure.lnk.to/lostmixesSO, which also features remixes from Paul Oakenfold, 65daysofstatic and more.
