Opeth walked away as winners at the 2025 GRAMMIS awards in their native Sweden yesterday, March 27th. That awards ceremony was held at the Annexet in Stockholm, SWE. The progressive metal outfit’s fourteenth studio album “The Last Will And Testament” took home the ‘Hard Rock/Metal Of The Year’ award, beating out the following entries from other nominees:
Amaranthe – “The Catalyst”
Horndal – “Head Hammer Man”
Nestor – “Teenage Rebel”
SkraeckOedlan – “Vermillion Sky”
As you can see in their below acceptance speech, the award was co-presented to them by another famous Swedish metal musician in Tobias Forge of Ghost, etc. fame.
