Recent years have seen Cleveland, OH groove metallers Chimaira hitting the stage far more often than usual, leaving some longtime fans hoping for a proper return to active duty. Thus, when the band shared a cryptic teaser video last week, speculation ran wild of new material of a potential full tour being in the works.
Ultimately, that teaser led to the reveal of a 20th anniversary vinyl release of their self-titled album. While that may have dashed some the hopes of some of the group’s supporters, a newly shared post by Chimaira frontman Mark Hunter could very well eventually be music to their ears. Hunter stated the following yesterday, March 22nd:
“I appreciate that so many were hoping for new music.
That is not off the table…
Your support for this release ensures we can continue to be self-reliant and create more art.
Don’t be disappointed.
Look at the big picture!Thank you so much to all that bought day one!”
