Galder (aka Tom Rune Andersen) has commented on his ongoing plans to reactivate his black metal outfit Old Man’s Child. After announcinghis exit from Dimmu Borgir last August, Old Man’s Child have revealed their first live performances in roughly 26 years and have also been working on their first new material since 2009.
Speaking on social media yesterday, March 22nd, of how those plans are shaping up, Galder stated:
“First OMC rehearsals in years! Feels good!. I know some people are curious about who is playing what etc. so a little update. Since we haven’t been on stage for 26 years(!) we have to make the best of it. Flying people in from across the world etc is simply not an option at this time, so I will work with local people I know and/or have worked with before.
I will also most likely bring in some vocal help (Born of the Flickering style) but will still do some vocals my self so I can focus on doing my thing on stage. This is not to be mixed up with OMC studio recordings as that is a different matter. Going to be careful about announcing any musicians names here as this may change. However I can confirm that Tjodalv will be returning and playing the drums this summer. Cheers and have a nice weekend.”
Old Man’s Child‘s live plans include:
06/04-07 Solvesborg, SWE – Sweden Rock
06/25-28 Oslo, NOR – Tons Of Rock
07//25-27 Cut Bank, MT – Fire In The Mountains (first-ever U.S. show)
08/08-09 Helsinki, FIN – Hellsinki Metal Fest
08/29-31 Volos, GRE – Golden R. Festival
11/22 Zurich, SWI – Dynamo
