Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder has added another entry into his legendary grunge band’s long shared history with Neil Young. As part of an upcoming tribute album dubbed “Heart Of Gold: The Songs Of Neil Young“, Vedder has taken on Young‘s 1972 cautionary tale of heroin addiction, “The Needle And The Damage Done“.
That aforementioned tribute album is being prepared as a two-volume set, with the first half due out on April 25th. Fiona Apple, Mumford & Sons, Stephen Marley, Courtney Barnett and more have contributed tracks to the project. Proceeds will benefit The Bridge School — an organization co-founded by Young‘s late ex-wife Pegi.
