Some nü-metal standards were recently performed on the long-running singing competition TV series ‘American Idol‘. 18-year-old contestant Insite made a successful audition on the show, covering Korn‘s signature 1998 hit single “Freak On A Leash and Drowning Pool‘s 2001 platinum-certified hit, “Bodies“.
Judge Carrie Underwood, herself a multi-platinum country star, showed her fandom for both songs, singing along and even going so far to come up onstage to assist with the latter rendition. After joining Insite onstage, Underwood remarked of the music, “that was high school for me.”
