GRAMMY Award-winning progressive sludge metal band Mastodon are headed to the opera in an unconventional fashion. Members of the band will be appearing at the Metropolitan Opera House on February 28th to discuss the influence of Herman Melville’s classic ‘Moby-Dick‘, which directly inspired their 2004 sophomore album “Leviathan“.
Also taking part in that discussion will be composer Jake Heggie, who scored the 2010 opera based on Melville‘s aforementioned book. Fellow metalhead composers Tamar-kali and David T. Little will also be partaking in that discussion.
