Drain are the first artist to be announced for this year’s ‘A Silver Surprise’ edition of the annual ‘Furnace Fest‘ event. Organizers for the festival had the following to say about the involvement of the Santa Cruz, CA hardcore punk band:
“In late October of last year, before A Silver Surprise had barely taken shape, one band kept circling like a smiling baby shark in my mind—one band I could picture delivering an Andrew W.K.-level Shed performance. Somehow, I knew that if Furnace Fest was going to continue, there was only one place to start: Drain.
With a whole bunch of nervous energy, I called my good friend @jamesxaloisio. *”Hey man, I’m thinking about carrying Furnace Fest forward. I feel like this community still needs and craves an annual reunion. Would Drain back us? Would they be the first to jump in?”*
Here we are. The first step. The starting point.The level of support from James, Drain, and so many others has been mind-blowing.

This year’s ‘Furnace Fest‘ will be held October 03rd to 05th in Birmingham, AL. Early bird tickets for the event went on sale today, February 14th.

Secret World (SPEED) and a reunited Ten Yard Fight & A Change Of Pace have also now been revealed for the fest.
