A video for Foreword‘s “The Will To Survive” has officially been unveiled by the Texan melodic deathcore band, just ahead of tomorrow’s (January 31st) release of their new album “Anthologies“. The band said of the song and its visual component:
“Our new single, ‘The Will To Survive,’ is a battle cry for those moments when standing still is no longer an option. It is the fight in ‘fight or flight’—that instinct to push back against the pressure to give up, no matter how overwhelming the world becomes. Compared to our other recent releases, we wanted to showcase a high-energy track, something that hits hard right from the start and never lets up.
For the video, we wanted to stand-out, so we looked for somewhere that reflected the motif of being trapped or confined by the outside to juxtapose it with the attempt to escape or fight back. Strangely, we later learned the location was one of the most haunted places in Texas, and we left with unexplained bruises. One of which was a literal set of teeth marks on our bassist Manny‘s forearm.
Pointedly, it added an eerie layer of meaning—a reminder that some battles leave lasting marks. In the end, it’s not about winning every fight, but about finding the strength to refuse to lose yourself along the way.”
