Electronicore outfit I See Stars have postponed their upcoming plans to tour New Zealand, Australia, Japan, Thailand and Taiwan. A statement issued by the band last night, January 12th, revealed that the group are “physically and mentally unable to perform right now”, citing the rigors of their touring over the past year as having taken a toll on them. Here’s what they had to say on the matter:
“OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS, WE’VE DONE EVERYTHING WE CAN TO PREPARE FOR THIS TOUR, BUT IT’S BECOME CLEAR THAT WE ARE PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY UNABLE TO PERFORM RIGHT NOW. SINCE JULY, WE’VE BEEN TOURING NONSTOP ACROSS THE WORLD WHICH HAS TAKEN A TOLL ON OUR OVERALL WELL-BEING.
THIS IS NOT A DECISION WE TAKE LIGHTLY – WE’VE NEVER HAD TO DO THIS BEFORE – BUT FOR THE SAKE OF NOT ONLY OUR HEALTH, BUT THE INTEGRITY OF THE SHOW, WE’VE DECIDED TO POSTPONE THESE DATES TO LATER THIS YEAR. WE WANT TO GIVE YOU THE BEST, MOST AUTHENTIC PERFORMANCE POSSIBLE, AND RIGHT NOW, THAT MEANS TAKING THIS TIME TO RECOVER.
THESE SHOWS ARE NOT CANCELLED – THEY ARE BEING RESCHEDULED, AND ALL PURCHASED TICKETS WILL BE HONORED. NEW DATES WILL BE ANNOUNCED SOON. WE APPRECIATE YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT DURING THIS TIME AND TRULY CAN’T WAIT TO COME BACK! WE LOVE YOU
-ISS”
THIS WAS IN NO WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM AN EASY DECISION. NEW DATES COMING SOON. WE LOVE YOU ?? pic.twitter.com/VfBzPsRzKs
