Hard rock mainstays Creed and Seether have both scored some new precious metals in the United States. This new round of certifications was just announced by the RIAA this past Wednesday, January 08th. Creed, who themselves scored a rare diamond certification (10x platinum) back in 2004 for their 1999 sophomore album “Human Clay“, newly racked up the following certifications:

  • One Last Breath” (gold/platinum/2x platinum)
  • My Sacrifice” (gold/platinum/2x platinum)
  • Higher” (platinum/2x platinum)

Seether meanwhile added to their already extensive collection of industry milestones with the following new certifications:

  • Broken” (4x platinum)
  • Remedy” (2x platinum/4x platinum)
  • Fake It” (3x platinum)
  • Country Song” (gold/platinum)
  • Careless Whisper” (platinum/ 2x platinum)
  • Fine Again” (gold/platinum/2x platinum)
  • Breakdown” (gold)
  • Rise Above This” (gold)
  • Driven Under” (gold)
  • Gasoline” (gold)
  • Same Damn Life” (gold)

A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
