Reba Meyers, vocalist/guitarist for Code Orange, etc., and more recently a member of Marilyn Manson‘s latest touring band, has stepped out with her first solo single, “Certain Uncertainty“. A music video for the track was filmed by her significant other, Greg Puciato of Better Lovers, The Black Queen and ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan fame.
Speaking of stepping out on her own with this new project, she offered:
“I’m finding that I have the space only now in my life to have a bird’s eye view on my adolescence, and that perspective, and current time of growth made it the perfect moment to begin to release solo material. A moment I’ve been sure would eventually come, thought I never knew exactly how it would look. With that, I get to experience the rewarding and nerve-wracking process of allowing myself the platform to be a more vulnerable person, and to explore that natural foundation proudly outside of how I’ve maybe been portrayed.”
Marilyn Manson drummer Gil Sharone handled the percussion on the track, with violin contributed by Judith Meyers. Josh Wilbur (Lamb Of God, Gojira) assumed the mixing duties. In related news, Reba has partnered with nonprofit Braddock Youth Project on several merch offerings, which can be found over at rebameyers.com/store. A cassette version of this single, featuring a bonus acoustic version of the track is among the items up for sale.
