Congratulations are in order for British post-hardcore/alternative rock outfit Basement. The group have just notched up their first gold single in the United States for their song “Covet“. That song emerged via the band’s 2012 sophomore album, “Colourmeinkindness“. The RIAA awarded that track its new status this past Wednesday, November 27th. The group’s immediate touring plans include the following runs:

03/08 Brisbane, AUS – Fortitude Music Hall (‘New Bloom Fest‘)
03/09 Sydney, AUS – UNSW Roundhouse (‘New Bloom Fest‘)
03/10 Melbourne, AUS – The Timberyard (‘New Bloom Fest‘)

With Knocked Loose, Harm’s Way & Pest Control:

03/17 London, UK – O2 Academy Brixton
03/18 Manchester, UK – O2 Victoria Warehouse
03/20 Tilburg, NET – 013 Poppodium
03/21 Paris, FRA – Le Bataclan
03/22 Lille, FRA – L’Aeronef
03/24 Brussels, BEL – Ancienne Belgique
03/25 Cologne, GER – Palladium
03/27 Berlin, GER – Columbiahalle
03/28 Leipzig, GER – Haus Auensee
03/29 Munich, GER – Tonhalle

A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
