As I Lay Dying's Tim Lambesis Files A Restraining Order Against His Now Ex-Wife, Claims "This Woman Assaulted Me And Verbally/Mentally Abused Me Over 3 Years"

In light of today’s (November 26th) leak of disturbing footage of heated exchanges involving him and his now ex-wife Dany Lambesis, As I Lay Dying vocalist Tim Lambesis has issued a new statement. Earlier today (November 27th), footage of private interactions between Tim and Dany surfaced online anonymously.

In those troubling exchanges, Tim was seen being verbally and physically aggressive in conversations with his wife, flipping over a table at one point in one. In both clips he also repeatedly struck himself in a highly agitated state.

While rumors of domestic violence began to spread last month in the wake of the the aforementioned exodus of Tim‘s bandmates, Dany, who is no longer with Tim and has reverted back to her maiden name, issued this statement, refuting those rumors.

In Tim‘s newly shared statement, he claimed that he is in the process of filing a restraining order against Dany, and that a domestic violence investigation is being conducted. Furthermore, he claims to have been the victim of years of abuse at the hands of Dany and stated that he filed for divorce from her this week.

Tim also blamed his physical outbursts in the newly leaked videos on ‘anxiety filled reactions’. Tim‘s statement reads:

“There is currently a restraining order and a domestic violence investigation being filed against Dany Norris (formerly Lambesis). Anything she is saying now is to distract people away from that to instead focus on my own inappropriate (but not illegal) reactions to these anxiety inducing interactions.

This woman assaulted me and verbally/mentally abused me over 3 years. I took the much needed and overdue step to leave her yesterday by delivering divorce papers. That is the reason there have been attempts at retaliation toward me online today that pale in comparison to what will really be the focus of the courts.

The following evidences are part of the case:

• multiple videos of her assaulting me
• videos of her chasing me around the house with a knife or scissors
• video of her insisting that I delete all other accounts of her physically assaulting me under threat of her knocking me out with a weapon held over my head
• photos of a black-eye she gave me with witness accounts of the event
• witness accounts of me being threatened if I try to leave, even temporarily

I’m certain she will counter by trying to expose my anxiety filled reactions and defenses, but please remember that reacting in panic by hurting myself is far different than what I’ve listed above.

The timing of these public attacks online are because I served her with divorce papers yesterday after many days of her pleading for me stay while also flipping back and forth to attempting to exert abusive control.

This is blatantly a retaliation for me finally leaving a relationship I should have run from a long time ago.”

It would appear that this volatile situation between the former couple played a part in the mass exodus of As I Lay Dying bandmates. The exit statements of those various members mentioned their personal morals and integrity being pushed past their limits due to experiences within the band.

That wave of departures also recently spilled over to Austrian Death Machine. Marital issues involving Tim have been particularly divisive. He infamously served several years in prison, after being caught in a murder-for-hire plot. That plot found him unwittingly attempting to hire an undercover police officer posing as a hitman to have his wife at the time killed back in 2013.

He was paroled roughly two years into his six-year sentence for solicitation of another to commit murder and has since remarried twice.
