Linkin Park‘s comeback album “From Zero” has debuted on the Billboard 200 at #2. The much-hyped eighth studio album from the diamond-certified nü-metal/alternative rock band was recorded in secret and serves as the group’s first all-new output since the 2017 death of their vocalist Chester Bennington.
An elaborate promotional campaign led up to this release, with much fanfare and select global live performances. “From Zero” also finds the reconfigured group joined by newcomers in vocalist Emily Armstrong (Dead Sara) and drummer Colin Brittain.
Per statistics reported by Luminate, Linkin Park shifted 97,000 album-equivalent unit during its first week on the charts — 72,000 of which were attributed to album sales. The band were beat out for the #1 spot by K-pop group, ATEEZ, whose latest effort “GOLDEN HOUR: Pt.2.” shifted 184,000 album-equivalent units.
While key releases from Linkin Park‘s catalog have remained mainstays on the chart, this opus debuts one chart position down from its predecessor, 2017’s “One More Light“. That final opus with Bennington opened at #1 on the Billboard 200 with 110,000 album-equivalent units.
