Seven Hours After Violet closed their set at yesterday’s (October 20th) ‘Knotfest Brazil‘ in São Paulo, Brazil with a rendition of System Of A Down‘s “Prison Song“. Considering that System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian anchors the lineup for this fledgling supergroup, which also includes vocalist Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer), guitarist/producer Michael “Morgothbeatz” Montoya (Winds Of Plague, etc.), ‘American Idol‘ runner-up Alejandro Aranda (aka Scarypoolparty) on guitars/vocals, and Winds Of Plague, etc. drummer Josh Johnson, the inclusion of a SOAD cover is a no brainer.
However, making it a bit more special was the addition of System Of A Down drummer John Dolmayan behind the drum kit for the song. Yesterday’s set served as Seven Hours After Violet‘s third live performance, and only their second traditional live show overall. Their self-titled debut album saw a release earlier this month.
