Columbus, OH-based melodic metalcore outfit Beartooth have notched up their first platinum certification in the United States. The RIAA have newly bestowed that honor upon the band’s 2014 track “In Between“. That song was the third single to meet a release from the group’s debut album “Disgusting“. That cut was previously certified gold in July of 2020.

The group’s mastermind Caleb Shomo commented on social media of the award:

“Thank you all so much for the support over the last decade Feeling very blessed this week “

News of this certification follows yesterday’s (September 20th) release of a deluxe edition of the group’s latest studio album, “The Surface.

A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
